The main driver behind my focus on health, surprisingly enough, has been my acne. I’ve dealt with acne since middle school and have tried countless dermatologists, medications, and skincare routines. While some helped temporarily, most needed extra support to truly work. As I got older and my acne persisted, I realized that caring for my skin wasn’t enough and I needed to care for my whole body.
Shifting my attention to overall wellness opened the door to eating more intentionally, practicing mindfulness, and prioritizing sleep and exercise. These changes helped me better support my body as it carries me through this beautiful, chaotic life. It might sound a little crazy, but I’m actually grateful for my acne now. It pushed me to care about my health way earlier than I might have otherwise, and it’s helped shape the way I take care of myself today.
